Migori ODM delegates set for Mombasa celebrations stranded

Migori County Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) delegates were Friday morning stranded after the bus hired by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) to ferry them to Mombasa for the party’s (ODM) ten years anniversary celebrations.

The bus which was expected in Migori Thursday night was yet to arrive Friday midday even as delegates said they had not received any formal communication from the party officials.

Some of the delegates are reported to have used personal means to travel to Mombasa after the bus delayed and lack of communication from the party.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi over the phone, Migori County ODM party chairperson, Philip Makabongo, admitted that the bus was yet to arrive by Friday noon.

Makabongo said they had made calls and sent messages to the organizers, including some of the elected party leaders from Migori County, but no communication had come through.

By the time of going to press, the delegates were still stranded and attempts to reach local organizers were unfruitful.

According to a statement by ODM, the party will on Saturday, September 10 hold a grand convention of the party where ‘a ground-shaking political announcement shall be made’.
