Migori: ODM party office shut down over Ksh.54K rent arrears

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party office in West Sakwa ward, Migori County, has been closed over rent arrears amounting to Ksh.54, 000.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, West Sakwa ODM party youth leader Evance Otieno said the office has been under lock-and-key for three months now after elected leaders who were paying the rent boycotted.

The region’s party Chairman, Juma Akoko, stated that they are presently looking for modalities to have a party ward office.

Area MCA Nestory Owiyo, however, said he had offered a room in his ward office for meetings as they sort out the issues of the office arrears.

He further stated that he had had offered to pay Ksh.20,000 to help in settling the arrears, adding that he advised other party leaders to contribute the remaining Ksh.34, 000.
