Migori on High Alert Over Fear of Fresh Cholera Outbreak

This comes barely two weeks after the Ministry of Health declared the county cholera free.

It also comes after 19 people were admitted and treated at different health facilities in the county after suffering diarrhoe.

The residents now want the county and national governments to deploy health officers to the area to help address the situation.

The County Director of health Dr. Joel Gondi refuted the claims saying that laboratory reports do not have any indication of cholera.

The director, however, said that the County is still on a high alert and will continue monitoring the situation.
