Migori: One killed, two houses torched in suspected love triangle

One person was on Wednesday night killed and two houses torched following a retaliatory attack occasioned by a suspected love triangle at Ngege village in Migori County.

Confirming the incident, Deputy County Commissioner Daniel Mutiso said they have launched investigations into the incident adding that they are following some crucial leads.

According to Mr. Mutiso, Fredrick Odoyo Chacha, 32, was attacked and killed by 40-year-old George Oronde after it emerged that he (deceased) was having an affair with Mr. Oronde’s wife.

Mr. Odoyo was reportedly hacked to death while trying to sneak into Mr. Oronde’s house.

The deputy county commissioner added that Mr. Odoyo’s death prompted a retaliatory attack which left two houses belonging to the suspected killer and his mother torched by relatives of the deceased.

He further stated that efforts by the arsonists to torch and destroy more houses and property were thwarted by police officers who arrived at the scene on time and controlled the situation.

The body of the deceased has since been moved to Migori Level Four Hospital as police continue with investigations.
