Migori police probe death of colleague
Police in Migori County have launched investigations into the death of a police officer who was found dead at a house in Rongo sub county.
The deceased was a regular police officer attached to Kamagambo police station, Rongo Sub-County for the past 14 years.
He had failed to report to work on Wednesday and a search for him began.
Officers found the deceased’s body laying on the bed after they broke down the door which was locked from inside.
Migori County Director of Criminal Investigation Department (DCI) Benedic Kigen however said the identity of the slain officer is being withheld for investigation purposes.
Kigen also said that the body of the police officer had no visible injuries and they are yet to establish the cause of his death.
An autopsy was to be conducted later in the week.
The deceased had apparently complained of feeling ill and sought medical assistance a day before he was found dead.
