Migori: Security guard killed by students after disagreement over light bulb

A security guard at Uriri Vocational Training Centre in Migori County has succumbed to his injuries after reportedly being assaulted by students at the institution.

Confirming the incident, Uriri sub-county Police Commander Peter Njoroge said the guard – identified as Moses Nobro – was attacked by students after he allegedly attacked and injured three students following a disagreement over security lights on Saturday.

According to the police boss, the guard accused the students of removing security light bulbs, whereas the learners also accused him of the same.

Mr. Njoroge said the students attacked the deceased, who was allegedly drunk, with a blunt object leaving him with serious injuries.

The guard was rushed to Migori Level Four Hospital where he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

The institution has since been closed indefinitely following the incident.
