Migori: Woman stabbed to death by former sister-in-law over gossip

A middle-aged woman was on Sunday morning stabbed to death by her former sister-in-law at Onyinjo estate in Suna West, Migori County, over alleged personal disagreement.

The deceased, identified as Caroline, was stabbed severally by the suspect, Queenter, who is currently battling for her life at Migori Level Four Hospital following a beating by an enraged mob before she was rescued by police officers.

According to witnesses who spoke to Citizen Digital, the confrontation began when one of the neighbors informed the suspect that the deceased was gossiping about new changes in their (suspect’s) church.

This is said to have angered the suspect and she approached and stabbed the deceased before irate passers-by stripped her naked and clobbered her as well.

The witnesses further claimed that Queenter and Caroline have not seen eye-to-eye since the former was separated from her husband who is the latter’s brother.

Confirming the incident, Migori County Police Commander Joseph Nthenge said investigations have since been launched into the incident.
