‘Sick’ Miguna stranded in Dubai

Embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna now says he is waiting for clearance from Emirates Air and UAE authorities so he can return to Nairobi.

In a statement from Dubai on Friday, Mr. Miguna insists that he has the right to travel in and out of the Kenya as he wishes.

“I intend to fly back to Nairobi as soon as possible. It’s my birthright, constitutional and legal right as well,” he said in a lengthy Facebook post.

The self-proclaimed general of the National resistance Movement (NRM) demanded that the relevant authorities return his travel document.

“Courts of competent jurisdiction have ordered the illegitimate state to return or issue me with a valid Kenyan passport. I demand and expect full compliance with those orders!” he said.

Miguna, who is spending a second day at the Dubai International Airport, has also appealed for medical attention complaining of body aches.

“But I am in great pain, stress and inconvenience. My left hand is still badly swollen. I believe that Jubilee thugs had inserted an IV in it to keep me unconscious for the entire duration of the flight between Nairobi and Dubai,” he lamented.

“I’m yet to get toxicology tests done on the chemicals the state thugs violently and illegally injected me with on Tuesday evening,” he added.

Miguna noted that he is also waiting for communication from his lawyers on the latest court order from the Kenyan Judiciary.

“I reiterate that we must ensure that everyone, no matter how strong or weak, respects, upholds and obeys court orders and operates within the rule of law. Nobody is above the law! “ he retorted.

Miguna has been in a tussle with the government over his citizenship status. The State however maintains that Miguna lost his Kenyan status when he became Canadian in 1998, since at that time, dual-citizenship was illegal.
