Military recruitment enters day three as hundreds turn up

The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) recruitment process has entered day three today, Wednesday.

The exercise is currently underway in Nandi East where hundreds of youth have turned up.

The youth lined up to go through the rigorous process including certificates verification and body checks coupled with physical exercises.

The exercise is led by Team Five’s Senior Recruiting Officer Lt. Col. Gift Mwandango.

Col. Mwandago said that the recruitment is free of charge, fair and based on merit adding that unsuccessful candidates will be told why they did not pass the ‘test’.

Mwandango said successful recruits will receive admission letters immediately the medical tests are concluded.

The officer reiterated that the exercise will adhere to the department’s accountability and transparency policy and that anyone who violates the provisions will be dealt with according to the law.

While calling on young men and women not to fall prey to conmen, Mwandango said corruption will not be condoned at any levels.

The recruitment of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) kicked off in earnest on Monday with thousands of youth turning up to try their luck in the Army, Navy or the Airforce.

The exercise, targeting to recruit over 2,000 general service personnel, is scheduled to run for the next 30 days in all the 272 district headquarters.
