Milk vendors want cons claiming to be KDB officers arrested

Milk vendors who buy milk from Dundori (Nakuru County) and Nyandarua County for sale in Nakuru Town have asked police and Kenya Dairy Board (KDB) officers to crack down on people posing as KDB officers and demanding bribes from them.

This comes just days after an Administration Police (AP) officer was arrested at Pipeline Estate in the outskirts of Nakuru town on Thursday for soliciting money claiming he was an employee of the KDB.

The 30-year-old officer from Isiolo was identified as Hosea Koitamet and arrested together with another man.

Milk vendors said that the officer together with others who fled have been stopping them along Nakuru-Dundori road and demanding bribes claiming they were engaging in the illegal sale of raw milk.

The vendors said that they have been incurring losses since the officer(s) demand bribes of over Ksh2,000 from each vendor.

Two of Koitamet’s accomplices escaped on a motorcycle.
