Millicent Omanga storms Jubilee headquarters to protest poll loss

Nairobi Woman Representative aspirant, Millicent Omanga, on Friday, April 28 morning stormed Jubilee Party headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi to protest the declaration of incumbent Rachel Shebesh as the Jubilee Party winner in the race for city Woman Rep ticket.

Rachel Shebesh was declared winner of Jubilee Nairobi Woman Rep ticket in the party primaries after she amassed 91, 766 votes against Ms Omanga’s 53,734. Karen Nyamu came third with 36,828 votes.

Ms Omanga claims Ms Shebesh “stole” votes, and that she “has video evidence to prove she (Omanga) won in the Jubilee primaries”.

Ms Omanga said she stormed the headquarters to catch attention of their party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto; and also present a complaint to Jubilee Party tribunal.

“Shebesh accused me of stealing votes yet she is the one who stole votes from various polling stations. I have faith in Jubilee tribunals. I have faith in the President and his deputy. I have a video evidence that I floored Shebesh,” she said.

Shebesh had on Thursday stormed Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi tallying centre, protesting that her votes had been “stolen”, claims the Jubilee poll bosses denied.
