Millie Odhiambo in court to stop Nkaissery from arresting her

Mbita Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has moved to the High Court seeking an anticipatory bail on the basis that she is being threatened with arrest.

She is further asking the court to bar the Police, Interior Cabinet Secretary, Major Gen. (Rtd.) Joseph Nkaissery, and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Keriako Tobiko, from arresting and prosecuting her pending hearing and determination of her petition before court.

Millie Grace Akoth Odhiambo, through advocate Antony Oluoch, claims that the Parliament police confronted and mishandled her for the reasons she is not conversant with.

She further claims that she has been receiving threats from unknown people through phone calls claiming to be security officers.

The MP says that she is being threatened with arrest and detention over unspecified offense.

On Tuesday, December 20, the MP was recorded as referring to President Uhuru Kenyatta as a ‘very stupid person’ during a special session of the National Assembly to amend the electoral laws.
