Minah Mosque Remains Closed in Mombasa

Mombasa county commissioner Nelson Marwa is now urging Mombasa Muslim leaders to hold talks with elders and youth in order to fast track re-opening of Minah mosque.

Marwa affirmed total security in all mosques in Mombasa but further asked Imams and other Muslim leaders to ensure that normalcy returns.

This comes after government ordered re-opening of Musa, Sakina, Swafaa and Minah mosques after their closure in November for two weeks following chaos by youth.

Police recovered weapons and other paraphernalia from the mosques during the raid.

Minah mosque however remains closed despite government directing its re-opening.
