Missing Baringo MCA found

The Baringo Member of County Assembly who was allegedly abducted on Sunday afternoon has been found safe.

Nelson Lotela of Silale Ward was reportedly found dumped in a maize plantation in Sobea, Nakuru County, by good samaritans who took him to Kabarak University Health Centre.

“When we received him at around 8am, he was a bit weak and looked confused, he had no physical injuries but some of his clothes were torn. We have assessed him for soft tissue injuries because he is complaining of neck, shoulder and pains on the thighs,” said a doctor attending to the MCA.

The doctor noted that the county legislator is in stable condition.

Mr. Lotela was reportedly heading home at around 5pm when two vehicles, whose number plates had been concealed, blocked his car just before he could cross River Nginyany in Baringo.

According to eyewitnesses, three men in civilian clothes disembarked, blindfolded the MCA and forced him into one of the cars; a Nissan Nevara, before speeding off towards Nakuru.

The second vehicle that was being used by the alleged abductors was said to be a land cruiser.

The MCA’s driver was left behind after the assailants confiscated his phones.
