A Form Three student from Barding Boys High School in Siaya County who had been reported missing has been found dead.

The body of Kevin Otieno Musula was discovered along the banks of River Yala on Thursday.

Kevin had been reported missing on September 8, 2019.

According to the school’s Deputy Principal David Onyango, the boy returned home from school and asked to call the elder brother Musa Musula who had been paying his school fees.

The grandmother Mama Rosalia Nyasigunga told the deputy principal that she overheard Kevin complaining on the phone.

She said Kevin lamented that the brother had only sent Ksh 3,000 yet he had a fees balance of over Ksh.8,000.

After the phone call, Kevin left home but did not return. The grandmother asked relatives to help her look for him but they could not find him.

It was not until Thursday that the family was informed that the boy’s body had been discovered.

They alerted police who took the body to Siaya County Referral Hospital for postmortem as investigations continue.
