Missing Kisumu man found dead and body parts buried in ex-convict’s home

Police in Kisumu County are in pursuit of a man suspected to have killed and buried chopped body parts of another man in Kobura village, Nyando sub-county.

Nyando Police Boss Leonard Matete says relatives of the deceased had reported their kin missing on August 24.

The police boss said area chief Nick Opondo in the company of police officers on Wednesday combed the village after word went round that the deceased had been involved in a fight with a man who is an ex-convict.

Matete says police raided the suspect’s home where there was a foul smell that led them to an abandoned hole within the compound.

However, the upon spotting police at his home, the suspect and is believed to be on the run.

The police boss said the hole was dug and police recovered body parts that were identified as those of the missing man, Stephen Obura.

According to the local residents, the man behind the killing is a jailbird and reportedly had a fight with the deceased before his death.
