Mobile Payment Services For Taxpayers

The service, dubbed M-Service, is a mobile payment and enquiry service platform aimed at making services easily accessible to taxpayers.

The M-Service will allow tax payers to enquire or make mobile payments of all taxes payable to KRA for payment services not more than Ksh 70,000.

Taxpayers can access the KRA M-service platform by dialling *572# on their mobile phones to make enquires or payment.

Taxpayers wishing to make payments are required to generate an E-slip and use details to make payments.

COMPANY OWNERSHIP

Sensitization on the M-Service is currently ongoing in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nyeri, Eldoret, Thika, Kisii, Nakuru, Embu, Malindi, Machakos and Kakamega.

The M-Service platform enables taxpayers to also make enquiries on status and ownership of an individual and company, Personal Identification Number (PIN), Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC), tax station enquiry, postage of Log books, driving licences and driving licences classes.

The M-Service platform also enables taxpayers to make enquiries through KRA’s customs Simba System in regard to clearing agent status, Simba entry status, Simba entry status, Simba Entry Amount Payable, Extra Taxes, manifest status, manifest amendment status, temporary car exportation status and Import Declaration Forms (IDF) status.

The service attracts a network operator charge of Ksh 5.
