The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested 6 suspects in connection with the murder of a lorry driver in Kikopey.

Kyalo Munguti, the lorry driver, was found dead inside a lorry on December 25, 2019.

Rose Mwihaki Mbugua, Mary Wangechi Njoki and Boniface Njuguna Njora were arrested after they were found to have used the deceased’s phone at different times before their arrests.

Officers handling the case have also arrested Isaac Mutiso Muli alias Nahu, John Wambua Mutuku and Benard Mutuku Muange all from Makueni.

The trio was found to have benefited from the sale of the deceased’s phone.

The DCI on social media said the investigations were at an advanced stage and officers were working towards establishing the motive of the killing.

The unravelling of the case will possibly help the officers uncover a racket in which several lorry drivers operating along the Malaba-Mombasa highway have been kidnapped and killed
