Mohamed Shahid Shot Dead

Mohamed Shahid Butt the owner of Modern Coast Bus Service who had earlier been charged in court with funding a radical group in the county was shot several times in his private car on his way home.

It alledged that a black car believed to have been trailing Butt stopped at Chaani area at around 8:15 pm before two people alighted and started shooting at them.

The businessman had just picked his son from the Moi International Airport when he was attacked near Changamwe Police Station.

Butt's son sustained injuries.

Confirming the killing Mombasa County police commander, Robert Kitur, who visited the scene dismissed claims that Changamwe Police Station had also been attacked.
