Moi condemns killing of MCA, kids, want justice done

Baringo Senator, Gideon Moi, has condemned the killing of Churo Amaya ward MCA, Thomas Minito, urging the government to speed up investigations into the case to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The body of the slain MCA, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances on May 15, was found floating on River Athi by a boda boda operator in Ol Donyo Sabuk near 14 Falls in Matungulu, Machakos County with fatal head injuries.

Speaking in Kabimoi – Eldama Ravine, the KANU Party leader called upon all leaders and residents not just in Baringo but Kenya to co-exist peacefully with each other, while also condemning the recent killing of three children belonging to an MCA aspirant in Kapsoya, Uasin Gishu County.

“I am very saddened by the killing of the MCA. I urge the government to conclude the investigation in a speedy manner. I urge Kenyans as a whole to conduct this coming election in a peaceful manner. Let’s conduct ourselves in a manner that befits us,” said Mr Moi.

The late Minito went missing after three people masquerading as police officers picked him from a Kabarnet hotel to record a statement over security issues, considering he was at one time arrested and booked at the Nakuru Central Police Station for a night after he was accused of propagating hate speech that allegedly led to the burning of a lodge in Laikipia Nature Conservancy.

On February 17 this year, Loiyamorok MCA, Kibet Cheretei, alongside Tiaty parliamentary aspirant, Pepe Kitambaa, were shot dead while in the company of five others at Alfa Bar and Restaurant in Marigat by unidentified gunmen.
