Moi gets orders stopping activities on contested ‘USIU’ land

The High Court has barred three parties claiming ownership of the same piece of land from conducting any activity on it until a case lodged by USIU is heard and determined.

This was after a successful application by retired President Daniel Arap Moi through his advocate Fred Ngatia.

Moi said  he cannot understand the basis of the claims lodged by USIU, Maestro Health Connections and Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi through his company, Muthaiga Luxury Homes Limited.

The retired president has been named as a defendant in the suit.

Justice Samson Okong’o, issued the order preserving the suit property in which the United States International University, Maestro Connections Health Systems Limited and  Equity Bank Chief Executive Officer, Dr James Mwangi, all have different titles for the same piece of land.

Maestro Heath Connections claimed it bought the property from Moi for Ksh 500 million and had stationed 1,000 guards at the site before USIU contested and got an order of maintaining the status quo.

Mwangi later emerged stating that he had also bought the property from the former president at Ksh 300 million after being introduced through proxies.
