Mombasa: 3 arrested over theft, found with pangas, knife, bhang

Police in Changamwe, Mombasa County, on Sunday arrested and detained three suspects accused of theft.

The three were reportedly found in possession of three pangas, a knife, hammer and a stone of bhang during the arrest.

Confirming the incident, area Chief Ben Valasa said the suspects are being held at Changamwe Police Station pending investigations.

The administrator, while decrying the rise of theft cases in the county in the recent past, further appealed to area residents to report any criminal suspects to the police for action to be taken.

The arrest of the three comes after six people were last month killed following a series of attacks allegedly conducted by an armed gang wearing police uniform in Kisauni, Mombasa County.
