Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on track to defend his seat  Infotrak

A poll survey conducted by Infotrack over the weekend in Mombasa County revealed that Governor Hassan Joho has a 63 per cent chance of retaining his seat in the August polls.

The survey ranks Jubilee Party candidate Suleiman Shahbal at second position and Senator Omar Hassan at third place with 2.6  per cent.

Interestingly, a whopping 25 per cent of the respondents said they are not yet decided on their preferred candidate for governor’s position.

Senator Omar Hassan is, however, leading the senatorial race with 17 per cent and incumbent Women Representative Mishi Mboko is poised for a re-election.

The poll further reveals that a majority of Members of County Assembly in would lose their seats, at 47 per cent.

National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition is the most popular political outfit in the county, followed by Jubilee Party.

NASA has a 48 per cent approval rate while Jubilee enjoys a 23 per cent support rate among the electorates.

Raila Odinga-led ODM party is the party of choice in the coastal county with 44 per cent support base.
