Mombasa Urban OCPD Martin Asin was on Thursday killed in a tragic road accident that occurred along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway.

According to Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa, the accident occurred at Maungu Voi along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

“The government airlifted him from Voi through AMREF Recue Services but he succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the Nairobi Hospital,” stated Marwa.

Marwa described Asin as a committed, hardworking and dedicated civil servant, terming his death a regrettable loss.

Asin was moved to Mombasa from Nairobi Central Police Station in a reshuffle effected by the National Police Service Commission last year. Before his transfer he had served as Nairobi County Deputy OCPD.

He replaced Geoffrey Mayiek who was moved to Nakuru as the Rift Valley Deputy Regional Coordinator.
