Mombasa Riots Suspects To Be Charged In Court

Judge James Ombura has faulted the delayed presentation of the suspects in court since 9:30am with their lawyer Harun Ndubi accusing the prosecution of breaking the law by delaying their presentation in court.

Security has been beefed outside Shanzu law courts and in Mombasa as tension remains high ahead of their charging in court.

Security has also been beefed up outside the mussa mosque ahead of the Friday prayers.

Several coast leaders led by Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, Mvita MP Lawmaker Abdulswamad Nassir and human rights activists are already inside the courtroom.

Families of the suspects remain outside the law courts.
