Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter stabbed to death

The family of Morgan Freeman is in mourning after his step-granddaughter was stabbed to death on Sunday in West 162nd Street, Harlem, New York.

Edena Hines,33, was found lying in the street with multiple stab wounds to the torso and was taken by an ambulance to a hospital in Harlem where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to his facebook post, Morgan Freeman said that the slaying of his step-granddaughter was senseless.

Freeman, however, appreciated the tremendous and outpouring love that his family has received regarding the tragic loss.

Police are holding Lamar Davenport ,30, who was arrested at the scene and was reportedly in a relationship with her.

Hines was the granddaughter of Freeman’s first wife.
