Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has refuted claims by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) that he allegedly met with members of the outlawed Mungiki sect.

On Tuesday, ODM chairman, John Mbadi, claimed that the controversial Jubilee lawmaker had met with the sect members to plan to disrupt protests against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) by National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters.

Speaking to the press at Parliament, MP Kuria accused NASA of plotting to distabilize the country.

“I am not a member or an associate of Mungiki, but I am a member of Nairobi Business Committee and we have to protect businesses,” said Kuria.

Mungiki is an outlawed ethnic based-sect that has been accused of subversive acts.
