Moses Kuria to know bail fate on Friday
Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria will know the fate of a bail granted to him earlier by court on Friday.
This is after Senior Principal Magistrate Teresia Nyangene said she will deliver a ruling on whether to hear or dismiss an application by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko to have a two million shillings cash-bail granted to him cancelled.
The MP, through his lawyer Danson Mungatana, objected to the hearing of the application stating that he has a right to be granted bail as per the constitution.
The prosecution, however, stated that the alleged inflammatory remarks made by Mr. Kuria at his Gatundu South backyard is a compelling reason to have the cash bail granted over another hate speech case withdrawn.
Kuria is accused of making inflammatory remarks during a rally in his constituency where he told residents to take up pangas and slash anyone who opposes the National Youth Service (NYS) programme.
