Mother kills two children

Residents of Mwiki estate were on Friday shocked after a 28-year-old woman killed her two children after the husband left her.

Mary Nduta, slit her children’s throats with a kitchen knife, before attempting suicide.

Kasarani CID chief Valerian Obore confirmed the incident.

The children were identified as 8 year old Yvonne Njeri and two-year-old Maxwell Waiganjo.

Nduta is under police guard at the Mama Lucy Hospital in Kayole.

The incident comes barely two months after a 20-year-old woman confessed to killing three children in Nairobi’s Korogocho slum.

The chilling incident on local media after it emerged that among the dead was her one week old son.

After the attack, the woman, Nelius Muthoni ran to the Korogocho Administration Police post for help.

She was taken for a mental examination where it was confirmed that the woman was suffering from post natal depression.
