Mother of 7 charged for sexually assaulting blind minor

 A 31-year-old woman was on Wednesday arraigned in court for allegedly sexually abusing a 17-year-old visually impaired orphan at Kiandutu slums in Thika.

Catherine Syokau, a mother of seven, was arraigned before Senior Resident Magistrate Grace Omodho where she denied the charges and was released on a Ksh.500,000 bond.

The court heard that the accused secretly visited the minor’s rental room on the evening of February 25, 2018 where she undressed, seduced and sexually molested him.

Ms. Syokau was also accused of threatening to kill the minor with a knife if he reported the heinous act to anyone.

A medical report from Kiandutu dispensary, where the minor was taken for treatment, indicated that the 17-year-old had suffered minor abdominal and chest injuries.

The case will be heard on March 13, 2018.
