Mother, Son and friend shot dead at home in Kabete

A mother, her son, and a friend who had visited them at their home in Kabete, Kiambu County have been shot dead in a bizarre incident by unknown gunmen.

The assailants are said to have driven into the family home in two cars at around 9pm on Saturday, committed the heinous crime and drove out uninterrupted.

A relative of the deceased family, John Gathitu, narrated that he rushed into the compound after gun shots had died down only to be met by two lifeless bodies in the sitting room and the son’s body oozing fresh blood in the bathroom.

The motive of the killing is yet to be established as nothing was stolen from the home.

Area residents are now living in fear after witnessing a series of such murders and deadly carjackings, while the criminals are still at large.

Residents are blaming the police for laxity.

Kabete OCPD Joseph Ongaya appealed to members of the public to give any information that could lead to arrest of the assailants.
