Motorist burns to death after three vehicles collide on Nairobi-Mombasa Highway

One person has been burned beyond recognition in an early morning accident involving 3 vehicles at the Kapiti Plains on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

The three ill-fated vehicles included a Toyota Fielder, a Probox and a Toyota Hilux.

According to witnesses, the Probox and the Fielder burst into flames after the nasty collision.

Athi River police station OCPD Goerge Kashimiri confirmed the incident, saying that one person died in the burning vehicle.

Five others who sustained serious injuries were rushed to the Machakos Level Five Hospital where they are currently admitted.

The occupants of the Toyota Hilux told the media that they were travelling to Limuru from Oloitoktok for a funeral.

The body of the deceased was moved to the Machakos Level 5 Hospital Mortuary while the vehicles were towed to Kyumvi Police Station,
