MP accuses 3 Jubilee governors of sabotaging Uhuru

Manyatta MP John Muchiri has accused three high-profile Jubilee Alliance governors of colluding with the opposition to sabotage President Uhuru Kenyatta in their counties.

Muchiri said that Martin Wambora (Embu), Peter Munya (Meru) and Isaac Ruto (Bomet) have been working against Kenyatta by constantly opposing the national government’s development projects in their regions.

The MP went further to accuse Munya and Ruto of disloyalty, pointing out that the two were launching their own political parties while the President and his Deputy are pushing for a singular party ahead of the 2017 polls.

Speaking at Kiangoci Primary School in his constituency, Muchiri advised the president to exert his authority over the errant governors as such ‘disloyalty’ could weaken the party’s support in the General Election.

Working with Wambora

Touching on his relationship with Governor Wambora, the MP said that there was no enmity between them. The MP explained he and the governor clashed because of differences in opinion on matters leadership and development.

Using the construction of Kubugu-Embu road as an example, Muchiri said that he does not oppose the tarmacking of the road-he only questioned the County’s ability to foot such a hefty bill.

The legislator said that Embu residents may end up losing big should the National Government back out of the 120 kilometer road project.

He told Wambora to support efforts to negotiate for the funding of such major projects as this would free up county funds for other projects.

Muchiri made these remarks after numerous leaders in the region challenged him to publicly declare his stand on Wambora-led road construction plan.
