MP accuses county of laxity in constructing ECDE classrooms

Chuka-Igambang’ombe Member of Parliament, Muthomi Njuki has called on the County Government of Tharaka Nithi to speed up the construction of ECDE classes which is a devolved function in order to provide a conducive learning environment for children in the area.

Speaking at Ciagakuu Primary School, Njuki expressed concern over the number of ECDE classrooms constructed by the County Government lamenting that out of 130 classrooms in the constituency, only 10 had been constructed by the County Government.

“ECDE class is the foundation of good education and some of the classes these children are using are discouraging them from continuing with school,” said Njuki.

The lawmaker has challenged the County Government to erect classes before the year ends, failure to which he will take up the initiative of building the classes to promote good education within his constituency.
