MP announces support for Governor Munyas presidential bid

Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi has announced his support for Meru Governor Peter Munya’s 2022 presidential bid.

Speaking at Kimongoro in Igembe south Sub-County, the MP however urged Munya to fast-forward his bid to 2017 since 2022 is far away.

He further called on the people of Meru to support “their son” since his presidency will be beneficial to the county.

Meanwhile, the legislator has lauded the formation of Jubilee Party saying he will not hesitate to join the party once TNA has been dissolved, calling on leaders from the region to follow suit.

The pronouncement was backed by Meru Women Representative Florence Kajuju who also called on Linturi to vie for Meru Senator, a position currently held by Kiraitu Murungi.

Early this week, Munya announced his intentions to form a new party which he will use to vie for the presidency in 2022.

The governor stated that he will not join Jubilee Party saying the party is intended to be a political vehicle for Deputy President William Ruto in his 2022 presidential ambitions.

He refuted reports that he will go for the running mate slot in the 2022 elections stating that he has ambitions to run for the presidency through his yet-to-be-unveiled party.
