MP leads residents to recover 20 stolen livestock

Suna West Member of Parliament Joseph Obiero Ndiege has blamed Kuria West security personnel for the rampant cases of cattle rustling in Suna West Sub County saying that they are reluctant on their job.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Mr Ndiege, who led a group of youths from his constituency in pursuing over 20 heads of cattle that were stolen from his constituency in the last one week, accused security personnel in the region for remaining mum even after getting leads about the stolen cattle.

The legislator also added that the cooperation between the security personnel in Kuria West and Suna West sub counties is very poor hence undermining efforts to fight the ever rising cases of cattle rustling in the region.

Mr Ndiege issued a three-day ultimatum to the security personnel from the two neighboring sub counties to ensure that the stolen cattle that disappeared in Kuria West region are recovered immediately.

Meanwhile, the residents of Suna West constituency are crying foul over rising cases of cattle rustling accusing their neighbors from the Kuria region.

They are now asking security personnel from the two regions to assist them fight cattle rustling.

The residents, who were accompanied by their MP to Kuria, said the security personnel from the region promised that they would investigate and recover the cows; however they were still not able to recover their cattle.
