MP Puts Pressure on Swazuri To Resign

The MP accused Swazuri of incompetency in resolving land matters, adding that his job situation has promoted landlessness and increased number of squatters at the Coast.

Speaking at Kinondo in Msambweni County, Dori said despite the land commission having powers to deal with land cases in the country, Swazuri has not done much to resolve the issue of squatters and land grabbing at the coast.

INCOMPETENCE

Her sentiments were echoed by Kwale Lands and Natural Resources County Executive Ali Mafimbo who said cases of corruption in allocation of title deeds and land grabbing are rampant in the county, a situation that should be dealt with.

Suleiman’s statement follows calls from other quarters calling for the resignation of Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu and Swazuri over incompetence.

Constitution Implementation Commission (CIC) Chairman Charles Nyachae and the National Civic Society Congress (NCSC) President Morris Odhiambo have both called for the resignation of Ngilu and Swazuri over incompetence and constant wrangling.

Odhiambo accused the two of failing to effect reforms in the lands sector in the two years they have been in office.

On his part, Nyachae said the two have spent much energy on infighting and wrangles instead of providing qualify services.
