MP sheds tears as gang kills boy after mother failed to meet initiation demands

Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome broke down while addressing a press conference on the killing of a young boy in Murang’a County.

A postmortem report conducted on the body of the 15-year-old boy revealed that he died after he was hit several times on the head with a blunt object.

Ms. Wahome attributed the death of the boy to illegal gangs which she said have been terrorizing young men and recruiting the initiates to the gangs.

The legislator further narrated how the deceased was killed because his mother allegedly failed to present to the gang a chicken that was required and instead gave a less acceptable cock which was rejected.

According to the MP, illegal gangs such as Mungiki, 42 brothers, Usiku Sacco and Gaza recruiting newly circumcised men in Murang’a County.

Church leaders from the area have since condemned the incident as the family seeks justice for Juliano Kanyonyo who had just sat for his KCPE exams and scored 377 marks.
