MP tells Kalonzo, Wetangula to accompany Raila in his campaigns

Alego Usonga Member of Parliament, George Muluan Omondi, has called on Wiper and Ford Kenya leaders to accompany Raila Odinga in his campaigns and help him get votes instead of compelling him to step down for a different candidate to fly the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) flag in the 2017 General Election.

Speaking at a meeting in Mwer High School in Siaya, Omondi accused Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, and his Ford Kenya counterpart, Senator Moses Wetangula, of not helping Odinga in his campaigns yet they want key leadership positions should CORD form the next government.

“I do not understand why you are coming up with ideas that Raila should endorse a different candidate to run for presidency when you are not running around the country with him to look for votes. Why don’t you help him in his campaigns first before you come up with those ideas?” wondered the MP.

The legislator, who was elected on a Wiper Party ticket in the last elections, insisted that instead of fighting to kill Raila Odinga’s ambition, Wiper and Ford Kenya parties should first unite with ODM to form a strong team ahead of next year’s polls in order to capture the top leadership positions.

He added that MPs from Nyanza are not adding any value to the CORD leader’s presidential ambition if they keep campaigning for votes from within their constituencies saying that Odinga has an automatic support from the region.
