MP vehicle knocks, kills pedestrian

The incident occurred at around 11.30pm at Kirigi Market along Mutunduri-Kianjokoma road.

The legislator’s car knocked down Nelson Muriuki Ndwiga killing him on the spot.

The MP later drove himself to Manyatta Police Station where the vehicle was impounded.

Confirming the incident, Embu North OCPD James Karisa said police have launched investigations into the incident.

BE CAREFUL

Mr Karisa said the man was crossing the road when the vehicle knocked him, killing him on the spot.

He further stated that the body had been moved to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary.

The police boss cautioned residents be careful when crossing the road, especially during the rainy season, as the roads are slippery.

Residents have been holding demonstrations over the lack of speed bumps along the road that has seen a number of them lose their lives to speeding vehicles since the road was Tarmacked five years ago.
