M-Pesa agent charged for using MP Sabina Cheges details

A middle-aged woman was on Monday arraigned in a Nairobi court and charged with five criminal counts, among them registering numbers using the name of Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege.

Catherine Nyaboke Omwene is said to have registered the mobile number of Waziri Benson Masubo under the name Sabina Chege.

According to the charge sheet, the offence was committed on March 3, 2018 at Update Beauty Shop in Donholm, Nairobi.

The accused was charged with other counts of permitting, falsification and obtaining registration by false pretense.

Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku, Ms. Nyokabi denied all five criminal counts and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.100,000.

The case was set for hearing on April 26, 2018.
