MPs Bosire, Junet arrested over hate speech allegations
Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament (MP) Timothy Bosire and his Suna East colleague Junet Mohamed have been arrested over allegations of hate speech and incitement to violence.
Police are now pursuing Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama who has also been accused of hate speech.
Bosire was arrested by Flying Squad officers at his Karen home Tuesday morning over remarks he made previously that have been termed as inciteful.
Junet was on the other hand arrested outside Nation Center after attending an interview at NTV.
The two were taken to CID headquarters along Kiambu Road for grilling.
Other legislators who have been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over alleged hate speech include Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) and Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa.
Kuria and Waititu reportedly recorded statements with the DCI and were released on police bond as the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) launches probe into their utterances.
Kuria is accused of calling for the assassination of CORD leader Raila Odinga for leading the anti-IEBC demonstrations across the country calling for the disbandment of the electoral body.
