MPs Laud Efforts To Withdraw Kenya From Rome Statue

Speaking in Karatina during the home-coming of area MP Peter Weru, the  MPs said the time has come for Kenya to withdraw from the Hague-based court.

The MPs said the ICC was a neo-colonialist institution.

Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando Wa Kabando and his Kieni counter-part Kanini Kega said they will support the Bill sponsored by Bumula MP Bonface Otsiula, saying the court only targets Africans.

In 2013, MPs passed a motion to withdraw Kenya from the Rome Statue, but a Bill to effect the withdrawal was never introduced.
