Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter has come under fire from a section of Rift Valley leaders for attacking Deputy President William Ruto at a recent public ceremony in Kisumu.

Kipkelion West MP Hillary Kosgey and his Ainamoi counterpart Sylvanus Maritim accused Keter of being used by opposition leaders to taint the image of DP Ruto.

“People like Alfred Keter, you’re given peanuts to go and insult the Deputy President. This game is big and in 2022, through God’s will, William Ruto will be the President of Kenya… like it or not,” said Kosgey.

He said the MP’s move will not succeed, adding that they will do all they can to ensure that Ruto succeeds in his quest to be president of Kenya in 2022.

“We know there are plots by NASA and others who seek to prevent William Ruto from becoming the fifth president of Kenya,” added the legislator.

“And that plot began in 2002 when they said ‘let us bury the Kalenjin community so that they will never be anywhere near power for the next 20 years.’ During that period, all Kalenjin leaders fled, only William Ruto remained to preserve the dignity of the Kalenjin community.”

Ainamoi MP Sylvanus Maritim, on his part, said Keter had no moral authority to talk ill of the deputy president when his own integrity was in question.

Maritim threatened to expose the ‘dirty’ deals of the Nandi Hills legislator if he continued attacking Ruto.

“We will tell the people what kind of business you have been engaging in, in Nairobi. You were caught in Central Bank saga and yet you want to come here and tell us who is a thief and who is not,” stated Maritim.
