MRC Leader, Members Released on Bond

While delivering her ruling, Kwale Principal Magistrate Elizabeth Usiu released the 12 on a bond of 800,000 shillings each and a surety of a similar amount.

The 12 are facing charges of illegal assembly after they were arrested three weeks ago while meeting at the MRC’s leader home in Kombani area in Kwale County.

State prosecutor George Mungai told the court that the State has no further charges to prefer to the 12 MRC suspects other than the single charge of unlawful assembly.

Security was tightened outside the Kwale law courts during the ruling.

Sources now say that their supporters have started collecting funds to meet the bail and other expenses.
