Mudavadi faults legislators’ reasons for defecting to Jubilee

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has faulted leaders who defected to Jubilee Party for citing development as the reason for their defection.

Speaking at Kiwegu in Kwale County, Mudavadi said that the leaders are ignorant of the Constitution, noting that resources to each county are guaranteed under the Constitution.

Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya defected to Jubilee recently saying that Jubilee leadership has a development agenda at the fore.

Mudavadi said leaders should be responsible and serve the public instead of seeking their own interests.

“The Constitution is clear about how resources are shared. Uhuru and Ruto do not have personal cheques to issue, the cash is your right as per the Constitution,” he said.

Mudavadi blamed National Land Commission Chair Mohammed Swazuri and Cabinet Secretary for Mining Dan Kazungu for failing to properly address land injustices and mining controversies in the coastal region.

He also drummed up support for his election as president in 2017 saying he is better placed to lead the country.

Mudavadi was accompanied by his two deputies Kassim Sawa Tandaza and Mohammed Yare, Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi and other party officials.
