Mumias Sugar Mismanagement Claims False, Says Kidero

Dr. Kidero, who served as the Managing Director (MD) of the company for nine years, termed the media reports as misleading and aimed at putting his name to disrepute.

The Nairobi Governor says the reports are based on a draft report of an audit firm and cannot be the basis of the accusations.

In a statement to newsrooms, Kidero defended his track record at the helm of the company saying that his leadership saw the company make a cumulative profit of 14 billion shillings by the time of his departure.

He further questioned the intent of the reports saying that nobody complained during his tenure.

"During my tenure as the MD of Mumias Sugar Company Limited, auditors and shareholders never complained of any financial impropriety or any other mismanagement. How come that these complains are flying in now?," questioned Kidero.

He has since demanded for an apology from media houses which implicated him in the mismanagement. Failure to apologize, the Governor has threatened to sue them for defamation.

This comes even after Nairobi Senator Gideon Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko alleged gross corruption and mismanagement of resources by the County Government of Nairobi, which Dr. Kidero heads.

The Senator further alleged that Dr. Kidero's leadership has been awarding tenders to same people who saw the downfall of Mumias.
