Munya accuses Jubilee of ‘buying’ his supporters

Barely a week after two members of the Meru County Assembly from Igembe Central defected from the Party of National Unity (PNU) to Jubilee party, PNU party leader and Meru Governor, Peter Munya, has accused the ruling coalition of spending millions of shillings in ‘buying’ his supporters and allies.

Munya, however, expressed optimism that PNU would emerge victorious and and garner a substantive number of seats when Kenyans go to the ballot on August 8.

“If tomorrow or the day after tomorrow you hear someone has defected to Jubilee Party, know that they have been given money,” said Munya.

Speaking at Kiengu, Munya said that PNU will soon make a major announcement on the defections saying that PNU will replace the defectors.

“We do have an alternative plan, our party will not go without a candidate, we shall look for other candidates and support them and we move forward.”
