Muranga family seeks help finding missing daughter

A family from Murang’a County is appealing for help after their daughter disappeared under the care of the Witness Protection Unit on December 9, 2017.

The female is a plaintiff in an ongoing defilement case before Murang’a Law Courts. She accused a Murang’a based policeman, Laban Njogu of defiling her when she was in police custody.

Speaking to Citizen Digital at their home in the outskirts of Murang’a town, the mother to the missing girl blamed the authorities of remaining tight lipped on the matter despite her family’s numerous attempts to lodge the complaint.

“I have tried to follow procedure while looking for my child and been directed to visit the unit’s headquarters in in Nairobi, but still I have not gotten any answers,” she said.

She claimed that the lady’s handler at the unit broke the news of her disappearance on Friday last week.

The lady’s mother added; “My family is traumatised. We just want our girl back. She was slated to continue with her secondary education and that is what we want for her.”

The minor was in November, 2017 had police escort to her now former primary school to sit for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
