Murang’a: Man kills father, dumps body in river
Police in Matiithi village, Kiharu Constituency in Murang’a County have launched a manhunt for a middle aged man believed to have brutally killed his father and dumped his body in a river.
The man identified as Willy is claimed to have threatened to kill his father, as the two were embroiled in a land dispute.
“Willy used to come home drunk and say that he would one day kill our father, without giving any reason. Our father had even said that if he ever dies mysteriously the first suspect should be Willy,” said a daughter to the deceased.
Shocked neighbours on Saturday camped around the home of the deceased 65-year-old man, curious to get details of what had transpired.
Area chief Bernard Kagoto says they were alarmed by a trail of blood leading from the deceased’s home to a river and on further investigations, they found the victim’s body in the river.
Angry residents immediately razed the son’s home.
